Nikon’s MONARCH HG Awarded Field&Streams Best of the Test for 2017

Field & Stream magazine has announced that Nikon’s MONARCH HG binocular has been named the winner of its 2017 BEST of the TEST AWARD. This year’s test was Field & Stream’s largest test of optics to date, comprised of the largest number of contributing editors and hunters, including optics professor Jim Zavislan from the University of Rochester.

This award is a testament to the engineering objective for the MONARCH HG to meet all standards of quality, performance and ruggedness. The binocular integrates Nikon’s renowned ED glass and Field Flattener lens system for exceptional high-resolution viewing. Field & Stream’s Deputy Editor, Dave Hurteau, said this about the MONARCH HG, “Most of the testers, when asked which binocular they’d choose for everyday hunting, clutched these Nikons the closest.”

Perhaps most gratifying for Nikon is that the MONARCH HG was up against binoculars costing $2,000 or more, while the MONARCH HG retails at $999.95 for the 10×42 and $979.95 for the 8×42.

Nikon is honored to have won Field & Stream’s BEST of the TEST AWARD for binoculars in 2017. “The HG hits the sweet spot for hunters who want a high-quality binocular to cover all their needs, and do it at a fair price,” said Hurteau.
