    I personally hunt with a 7mm mag. I don’t think you can go wrong with either round as they are both proven and relatively easy to find. As for the gun, my preference is a Remington 700. Great platform out of the box, plenty of options to suite your needs, pretty reasonable prices for what you’re getting. My Remington 700 7mm has always been dependable and very accurate.

    I have to agree with Tim. You can’t go wrong with either round and the Rem. 700 is an all around great gun.
    If it were me I’d probably have to go with 7mm for the simple fact that when the ammogeddon was in full swing I found 7mm almost everywhere I went. 300 not so much.
