Five Reasons Why You Have the Right to Carry and Should Be Insured

self-defense insurance protection should I be sued or investigated for a lawful shooting is a comfort for both myself and my family. It means that I don’t have to worry that an attempt to protect them will leave them with a stack of bills that they can’t pay. It means that I don’t have to stand impotent while my family suffers at the hands of strangers.

I would like to think that I would do whatever it took to protect my family in any case. Money shouldn’t be a consideration when you are facing danger. Sadly, in our litigious society, it is. Every action we take is a potential lawsuit. Everywhere we turn there is some dishonest loser willing to lie to make a quick buck. Self-defense insurance gives me peace of mind knowing I don’t have to worry about being a victim twice.

Now that I know about it, I feel like I would be a fool to carry my firearm without self-defense coverage. It’s just another way to protect myself and my family in uncertain times like these. It may be a small expense, but the cost of not having insurance is a price I am not willing to pay.

Sincerest condolences. There’s nothing worse in the world than losing a child.

The insurance sure is intriguing. I’m concerned that 50k in legal defense wouldn’t get you very far. In a ‘speedy’ trial it might be enough, but I bet that equates to about 2 months of representation. I think I’d want some kind of “umbrella” coverage up to a out $1 million, with a high deductible ($10,000?).

Check out the insurance available through the USCCA. Much higher coverage limits and a reasonable cost.

I have used TX Law Shield for a few years (never needed to call for a shooting situation) and feel well covered and represented,
