Truglo Scope Review / Giveaway

This review should be somewhat short and sweet. First let me start off with this, every conversation I had with Truglo I experienced the best customer service I have ever had in my entire life… hands down. Now to get down to business, I went looking for a good hunting scope that wouldn’t break the bank and I happened across the Truglo line. I know of the company because I have Truglo sights on some of my handguns and I am completely satisfied with them so why not give the scopes a try? For this review I went for the Tru-brite hunting scope, model number TG8541BXB.

First Impressions
With a cheaper costing scope you would expect a cheaper product. When I first opened the box I was pleasantly surprised with the piece of equipment I had in front of me. I saw no flaws in the materials, reacted nicely to my stress test telling me it was crafted from a quality material. The scope is constructed from a single piece of aircraft grade aluminum, with a durable, textured, non-reflective matte finish.

Specially formulated multi-coatings provide maximum brightness, clarity and contrast even in the poorest of light conditions. The Xtreme scope has special internal anti-reflective coating on metal parts.

This model Tru-Brite riflescope features adjustable parallax settings, extended eye relief, zoom index at 9 o’clock for more ergonomic use, low-profile, large diameter W/E adjustment drums, durable leaf spring for windage and elevation adjustments, rheostat with adjustable brightness intensity, and so on. The scope is waterproof, fog-proof, nitrogen gas-filled and shock resistant to 1000g.

The Truglo Tru-Brite Xtreme model scope comes with a 2 Color IR BDC reticle. This two-color illuminated, bullet drop compensating reticle can be easily calibrated to many centerfire loads and provides aiming points from 100 to 600 yards.
The Tru-Brite Xtreme 4-16×50 AO Rifle Scope includes see-thru / flip-up lens caps and runs on a CR2032 battery (included). It is covered by Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Field Test
I took my rifle to the range, sighted it in and hit the woods for a buck. I bagged a 10 point Mega buck sporting a 20 inch inside spread in early December in PA! Buck weighed 185 lbs and I brought him down with his Remington 7MM Mag using a Winchester Super X 175 GR Power Point round at a distance of approximately 350 yards with a one shot kill. That’s pretty much all I needed!

Company Info
Head to their website and check out the products they offer, I haven’t found one yet that I am disappointed with. Based out of Richardson Texas and extremely easy to get in contact with. They obviously pride themselves in their products based on their logo placement and their no nonsense attitudes towards any possibility of defects. They offer everything from archery/crossbow sights and accessories to rifle/handgun/shotgun scopes and sights and even items for air guns. Check them out, you wont be disappointed.

Sweet deal if you ask me. Will only be valid for posts beginning January 6 and Ending January 30, winner will be announced January 31.

  3. I have been looking for a scope for my SKS, sounds like a good scope and a good price for it too.

  4. Hey I won’t say I haven’t had anything nice as far as hunting equipment goes. But I would love to when this scope and give it to my daughter. I haven’t one anything In my entire life. Goodluck to everyone

  5. Purchase this scope base on the information on it. At the time of order it met all of my requirements, 4x16x50, a plus was the lighted reticle. Had it professionally mounted it on a Weatherby Vanguard in .300 WBY Mag. Laser bore sighted. Was on paper with the first shot at 50 yards, fired a second to have a group to adjust from. Made a minor adjustment and moved out to 100 yards for my zero point. Fired 2 shots to get a group to adjust from, made a minor adjustment. Fired the 3rd shot the scope went blurry, could not get it to clearly view the target at any range. 5 shots and now I have to take it back off and return it to Walmart. It’s a good looking product just wished it would have worked as advertised!
