Suspect Shot During Attempted Robbery

A man was shot Thursday around 6 a.m. after attempting to rob a bar in the southwest valley.

Las Vegas police Lt. Andy Walsh said the man entered The Lodge at 5790 S. Fort Apache Road, near Russell Road, with intent to rob the establishment.

Before he could get any money, the man was shot by an unknown person in the bar, possibly an employee or a patron, Walsh said.

“I don’t have the information at this point, that will be released later,” he said. “What it looks like at this point is the bad guy is the one who got shot.”

Walsh said the man was transported to an area hospital. His condition was unknown.

It’s unknown whether another suspect was involved in the robbery.

Do bad things, and bad things are liable to happen to you. Don’t do bad things, and there’s still the chance that bad things will happen to you — but the odds are drastically reduced.
